The Nature of Mind Series is designed to give an individual the theory and meditation practices of the Buddhist path. These timeless methods are provocative and perfect for our modern lives. We will explore the nature of our true essence and how to live with awareness and greater confidence. The series may be taken out of sequence but it is then recommended that you also do the earlier classes at a later date as they do build on each other.
Nature of Mind I: The Path of Meditation
Jan 28 & Nov 4, 2017 | 10am-6pm
This one-day class explores the path to true freedom and satisfaction in our lives. We will examine both the causes of our difficulties and how to cultivate a more authentically joyful experience. We will also learn the art of meditation, which reveals our calm and confident mind.
April 22-23 | 9am-5pm
We begin to further our understanding about the mind and external phenomena. Through examining the relative and ultimate levels of truth, one understands how the mind and world actually function and appear. Our meditation practice expands into methods to increase awareness.
Sept 23-24 | 9am-5pm
The true nature of mind is imbued with profound qualities of wisdom. We learn how to navigate our world with love, compassion, joy and equinimity. Through skillfully relating with ourselves, we can learn to relate to others.
Oct 21-22 | 9am-5pm
Having been grounded in the fundamental concepts of the path we can now go further and explore the world of Vajrayana. This class introduces the philosophy, iconography and methods of tantric Buddhism – Everything you have always wanted to know in clear, easy to understand language.
July 1, 2017 | 9am-12pm
This morning class will cover the meaning of taking Refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha and the Bodhisattva vows to formally become a Buddhist. Following this class Khen Rinpoche will offer the vows to those who wish to take them.
